Some Pictures

Just realized we had these pictures taken with Jared's phone.

The pictures below were taken in the beautiful orchards just down the street from our house.

The last few weeks

Yesterday we went to Ogden to go see my dad’s play “Carter’s Bluff”, presented by his stake.  My dad has worked a lot over the last year writing not only the play but roughly a dozen songs to go with it.  Besides writing and directing it, he also played a few parts in the show.  It is a wonderful melodrama/comedy about a villain family who in order to help the South win the Civil War must steal some beautiful land from an old widow.  The villain’s son, Hawk, has just turned 18 and is finally ready to start his villain career. Unfortunately, Hawk is the complete opposite of a villain and has fallen in love with a very churchy girl.  The girl, not aware of her boyfriend’s villain heritage, urges her boyfriend to “honor his father and mother”, thus Hawk agrees to obey his mom and get the land from the old widow.  It was a funny show and the audience really got involved “booing” and “hissing”. Jared and I had a great time, as did my mom who watched our kids at her home for us (thank you!).

Last week I played pictionary with Thomas and Natalie.  Natalie selected an action card and then drew the following picture.   I couldn’t guess what it was so I asked her and she said it was a baby chasing a bone.

I was pretty sure that none of the Pictionary cards would fit that description so I asked to see her card (below).

It made me laugh.

Otherwise, the weather has been like a rollercoaster, but mostly cold and rainy.  On good days we’ve been getting the weeds taken care of and planting seeds (for both our vegetable and flower gardens).  I’m so amazed how beautiful plants can come from such tiny seeds, God does give us miracles each day!  We’re really loving spending time outdoors, playing on the playground and in the sandbox and going on walks almost every warm day.  Spring is my favorite time of year.

11 Years and Counting

May 6 marked our 11 year anniversary.  To celebrate the occasion we took a little trip to Logan, where it all started...

The kids had a blast taking a tour around Utah State University, the Logan Temple grounds, and the zoo at Willow Park, but what they loved most was playing at Grandma Toone's house and being with their super fun Aunt Kathy.  Grandma and Kathy were so kind to watch the kids for us on Saturday, giving Jared and I a chance to go on a date (one of the few we've been on in 4 years).

I'd also like to wish both of our mom's a Happy Mother's Day!  We love you! Thank you for all of your love and help.
