Proud Parent of a Kindergarten Graduate

This picture says it all.  Admittedly I've always thought that graduations for preschool and Kindergarten are a bit ridiculous, but that was before I had my own graduate, it was actually very entertaining and cute.

Hippotherapy

Amelia had an evaluation for Hippotherapy at Courage Reins (Lehi) a couple of weeks ago. We have been blessed to be able to get a grant to cover the therapy from the Untited Healthcare Children's Foundation. We were a bit nervous to enroll Amelia because she is young and we were worried she'd fight us to get on the horse each week.  However, Amelia loves, loves, loves her horse Solmani and can't wait to go back.  The therapy consists of more than just riding a horse; they put Amelia in different sitting positions (backwards, sidesaddle) and have her reach for things.  The therapy will hopefully improve Amelia's balance and open up her hips, as well as helping her brain make certain connections from the horse's gait.

Don't You Love Spring!

Spring is my favorite time of year. I love being outside, I especially love the flowers!  We've been spending a lot of time outdoors, planting seeds and playing.  It's been wonderful!

Thomas went fishing with Jared a
few weeks back and caught his first fish.

On another note, today is our 12th anniversary. Time has really gone fast, to put it in perspective,  12 years from now, Thomas should be graduating from high school—crazy!  We did most of our celebrating yesterday.  We got a babysitter, went to the Korean restaurant, walked around BYU, got some icecream, and then stopped by the nursery and got some plants.  It was wonderful, especially nice to walk around without having to think about anyone other than ourselves!

5 Day Pets

Last Friday was Farm Day at Thomas’s school.  When we first heard about the event Thomas was in tears because he said he had to bring a pet, and of course we don’t have one.  So it was convenient that the Monday prior to Farm Day our neighbor had found a frog in her yard and didn’t want to keep it.  So we had a pet frog for a few days.  We searched our yard high and low for bugs for the “froggy” to eat and couldn’t find any, however we did find a salamander in the sprinkler box.  We put the salamander in with the frog and bought some little crickets for the amphibians to eat so that we could take them to farm day.  Those two were the hit of the farm, at least to a few loyal kids that kept coming back to hold the pets.  The poor frog got dropped a couple of times but I think they made it out okay.  The first thing we did when we came home was to release our pets by the irrigation canal—free at last (I’m referring to myself more than I am to the pets)!
