We went to the Hogle Zoo on Friday. What a beautiful day! There were a lot of people, but compared to the last few times we've gone when there have been a lot of school groups, the crowd didn't seem as bad. It was the first time we saw the newly built "Rocky Shores" which we loved. The big windows that allowed us to see the animals swimming were really, really cool. The zoo has a big section closed off to build an "African Savanna" which will be amazing when it's done, but the kids were a little disappointed not to be able to play on the playground or ride the train.
Also I just wanted to send a big congratulations to Thomas who has finally lost his first tooth. Since Kindergarten kids have given Thomas a hard time for not having lost a tooth yet. He'd act tough telling them that maybe he was born with his adult teeth in already. When Natalie announced in December that her first tooth had fallen out, Thomas just sobbed and sobbed. Thomas was very excited when his first tooth began to move, but before it became very loose, a second tooth came up behind it (see above). It's what dentists call a "shark tooth" and sometimes if it's too far back it doesn't loosen the baby tooth's roots. We thought we'd have to have his baby tooth pulled out,but fortunately it did finally come out on it's own.
This last week we've been soaking up the sun, loving the Spring weather, and getting a lot of yard work done. Spring is so refreshing and wonderful--my very favorite time of year!

Congratulations to Thomas for his first tooth ! Yes it was a beautiful day and a fun one too at the Zoo!
How fun to see those pictures at the zoo! My kids had a lot of fun. I can't believe that Natalie has already lost a tooth! Tristan doesn't even have a wiggly tooth.
Zoorific! I had a lot of people say they went on Friday so I bet it was busy. Also, congrats to Thomas - Big day!! Sophie hasn't lost any and I'm pretty sure she doesn't have any loose. Tell Thomas congrats! Does the tooth fairy visit your house?
